What, you don’t want to come live in the miserable patch of land known as Ohio?

Boooo. Also good you’re not moving far.
Did you sell? Did you buy another place?

Short moves are awesome. No worries about having to leave stuff behind. Packing can be “packing”. When I moved from my apartment to my first house five miles away I did so many small trips that when it was time to do the actual move it was just five pieces of furniture and a couple boxes from the kitchen.

2 bd/2 bath apartment. Rent is insanely low, older couple as landlords. Low enough that I jumped on it before even having a plan for the condo. We'll see....

We once had a move that was literally across the parking lot. Moved from a two bedroom apartment to a three bedroom in the next building over. We got help from my FIL for the heavy stuff. Pretty much everything else got transported over in laundry baskets. It was great.

Oh nice. My younger brother lives up there som ewhere, working for Facebook. Works from home these days, with the offices being shut down as they are...

There’s lots of industry and jobs in the area, bu t you’d lose your mind around here. There’s not really anything to do. It’s okay for a hermit like me but it seems you’re a very much “go out and do stuff all the time” sort of person and frankly I don’t know what you’d have left to do after a week or two.

More like moving half a mile west of the initial outbreak, as apposed to half a mile east. Sigh

I delivered to a memory care retirement home today. A firetruck was parked in front, and there were about 5 people standing outside the building in full biohazard suits. Cray

I moved within the same apartment building over a weekend once. I think I used one box and a couple of suitcases: carry the box up the elevator, empty the box in the new place, go back down and load it up again.

I forgot that you have a delivery job now. I just realized that all these severe measures will result in a milder epidemic than we would have had. In the end, this will allow some of those in the right who are downplaying it to say “See? It’s not so bad. Told you so”.
You remind me - I missed out on the run on TP, sanitizer, face masks. I’m going to Amazon now for a case of biohazard suits.

Ha. Despite appearances, I’m pretty hermit-like myself. I have to make a bigly effort to go out and do things.

Or it could be the end of the world as we know it and I'm perfectly positioned to play out my Death Stranding fantasy

The tech industry’s response has been unexpectedly quick. Pretty much every major tech employer around here has shut it’s doors....
